Who should attend: Trainees in child neurology from the Nordic countries. Max. 20
participants.
Topics: The biochemical, morphological and genetic background of mitochondrial disease.
The most common mitochondrial encephalomyopathic syndromes, the most common
neurologic symptoms, signs and neuroradiologic features found in children and adolescents
with mitochondrial disease. When should we suspect mitochondrial disease. How do we treat
patients with mitochondrial disease.
The participants are encouraged to submit and present a case of suspected or verified
mitochondrial disease.

of Helsinki. Anders Oldfors, Elisabeth Holme, Már Tulinius, and Niklas Darin from the
University of Göteborg. Elsebeth Östergaard from the University of Copenhagen.
The course will be held at the Ågrenska Villan, Högåsplatsen 2 which is located in the center
of Göteborg. A list of hotels will be forwarded to participants.
Registration Fee: 2800,- SEK.
Hotel accommodation is not included.
